The news of the performance industry, which was hard due to COVID-19, gradually disappeared, The thirst of new works and fans who have been waiting for the musical made him wait even longer.

This December, he is back with a piece that will hit the musical scene!

Asia premiere of "Moulin Rouge!" I had an honest and simple conversation with Lee Choong-ju, who plays Christian. If it's singing, acting. I invite you to his charm, which is essential.

Q1. Please say hello to the subscribers of K magazine.

- First of all, I'm grateful to be able to interview K Magazine, and it's an honor to be able to interview like this, and I'm grateful to subscribers who buy and read books, and I hope you're healthy because of the bad situation. In addition, it would be perfect if we meet offline.

Q2. It is really nice to meet you in various media as well as plays, musicals, and dramas. I wonder how you are doing these days.

- After finishing the musical in June, I am filming a drama that is scheduled to air. He is considering his next work and is currently preparing for a fan meeting in Japan for the first time in three years. I did it every year, but I couldn't because of Corona, but I did it again. The second album of Phantom Singer Team's activities was recently released. I did a music show and idols did it, but there is a fan meeting of the Phantom Singer team tomorrow. I'm preparing for "Moulin Rouge." I think I'll be able to see you on stage next month.

Q3. I think the performance environment must have been difficult due to COVID-19.

- I'm telling you, a lot of performances have been canceled. There were so many things that I was supposed to do. I even experienced a complete cancellation of the performance during the dress rehearsal. It was a performance that I had an appointment to meet with the audience, but it was so hard because it was canceled. Even if you come to the concert hall, there are still many performances that sanction shouts and such. If so, there are many performances that require such things, and there are many parts where you have to watch the performance with great difficulty. It was hard not to meet the audience offline.

There is a limit to watching performances online. It was so unfortunate that the person who did it had to look at the camera on stage and act. The hardest hit was when people gathered. Shouldn't we do something where people gather? In many cases, performances were canceled because the cast was caught even though they barely performed.

Q4. He has been an actor for 13 years since his debut. There are times when you work on musicals and broadcasts. How can you combine physical strength and skills?

- Actually, there isn't. There is no know-how in that. I changed my mind. Before Corona, he said that if it's hard, it's hard. However, now that I have taken a break from work for more than a year, I am so grateful that something is given busily. I think that's a blessing. I think it's right that my mindset has changed. Exercise has always been done. I tend to take care of my physical strength all the time. I didn't know it was appreciated before. I thought it was really special.

Q5. I think there will be times when I have a hard time mentally. Do you have your own way of overcoming stress?

- No matter what I do, it must be stressful, but I'm the type to do it with a little stress. No matter what you do, you can't relax. That could be because of my inferiority complex and there are many negative energies. I tend to feel a sense of accomplishment in that way that I feel perverted. I tend to be happy when it comes to performing. One-dimensional way to relieve stress is to like traveling. I tend to eat, exercise, and relax. It's hard if you don't support those things outside of work. I'm the type to lock myself up when I work. Of course, I got the hang of it as I got older. I guess he's still trying to clean it up. It's like that until right before the shoot.

Q6. When preparing for the work, actor Lee Choong-ju seems to have his own focus. What do you pay attention to?

- I tend to look for everything in me. I'm sure I have this side of me, right? said he. And I look for people around me when I look outside. I find the character I saw in the movie or drama. Even if I imitate it, it's different because I express it and what Lee Chungju does. I tend to do it freely.

Q7. I have done many works. Which role was the most memorable?

- The role I play now is the best. It's Christian from Moulin Rouge. Performing this role well is a burden and the biggest homework, perhaps because it is an Asian premiere. You have to stay. It's a lot of pressure. It's so burdensome that I can hardly sleep. I'm excited, I'm worried and of course I am.

Q8. While filming the drama 'The Duke City', I think I would have felt a different charm from the musical. I wonder what you felt.

- First of all, the stem of smoke is the same. Sometimes I wondered when someone asked such a question. Both are called actors by media, and the way they express them is different. The musical receives feedback right away with the audience for two to three hours, and that's the biggest charm, and people can't cut it off, and that's the scariest thing.

I think I have a great sense of accomplishment that I accomplished it. I think it's attractive to have to sing and act on stage. I think it's attractive to have different performances every day and it's like my hometown. Drama has a definite impact on broadcasting.  There are times when I feel pressured and nervous in some ways. Looking at the results, it looked like editing art. I felt like I was doing something of a different genre. The feeling at the scene was also new. be in the process of adapting. I want to keep trying because I'm a new actor. It was like a fear challenge. What's clear is that I think I can do this because of my various experiences. I think it came from the same stem. I want to play various roles.

Q9. I have played various roles until now. I'm going to play more roles in the future. What kind of roles do you want to play?

- I think I want to play a villain now. I want to play an impactful villain. Good, cool, good man is good, but I want to try something new.

Q10. Many producers, including Yoon Sang and Yoon Jong-shin, are praising the voice and singing method for singing flexibly. I wonder if you have your own throat care method.

-To be honest, I gu ess it's because I'm not only good at vocal music, but also a person who does pop and pop music. I learned singing at school, and I felt like I had to do vocal music to sing. K-pop, I think it became two with pop. I actually don't know how to take care of my throat. In the past, it changed enough to say that there was no child like you. I'm taking care of my throat.

Q11. If you could give a word of encouragement to those who dream of becoming an actor while looking at actor Lee Choong-ju?

- I'm currently doing that, and I don't think I should give up. I think this game is not a game of who goes first, but a game of who lasts long. There were times when I wanted to go first, and I was often frustrated when I was overtaken. There were times when I looked at my friends like Mozart and looked at them with my heart. It seems that opportunities keep coming after tasting my bottom. Whatever it is, don't give up.

Q12. Please say bye to the subscribers of K magazine.

- Thank you to the fans who waited a long time for the next project. It's been almost six months since the musical alone. Please come and watch "Moulin Rouge!" I will work hard to show you a lot of good things in the future. Thank you.
