KT announced on October 21 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Russia's SISTEMA to promote healthcare and Internet Data Center (IDC) construction projects in Russia.

The main contents of the MOU between the two companies include cooperation with a health checkup center and diagnostic test business in the Far East and Moscow, promotion of joint projects between MTS and IDC, and discovery of additional business opportunities based on the competencies of both companies.

KT selected the healthcare sector as one of the eight new growth areas. By utilizing Korea's outstanding medical staff and healthcare technology, it is continuously promoting cooperation with major companies to enter the healthcare market in the New Northern region, including Russia.

KT is expected to create synergy in the medical and healthcare fields with MEDSI of this system, and plans to work together to expand the Moscow-focused medical infrastructure to the Far East.

In addition, KT plans to cooperate with the establishment and operation of the center in the data center business that MTS will carry out in the future based on Korea's best IDC construction and operation capabilities, and jointly promote IDC business in the Far East through joint venture establishment.

KT plans to expand its base-type business with the goal of advancing into the western region including Moscow, Russia and neighboring countries through cooperation with Sistema.
