On November 6, the 'Reception Commemorating National Foundation Day and Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Korea,' hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China, was successfully held at the Ambassador's residence with approximately 1,100 domestic and foreign guests in attendance. Unlike the subdued atmosphere of recent years, this year saw a large turnout of senior Chinese public officials and local government representatives, and the number of attendees from foreign diplomatic missions also increased by about 1.5 times. This is interpreted as a positive shift in the somewhat strained South Korea-China relations, coinciding with the successful conclusion of the 2025 Gyeongju APEC Summit on the 1st.

Meanwhile, the cultural performances during the approximately three-hour event became a hot topic, riding on the global interest and love for the Korean Wave (K-Wave). Pansori, which recreated the traditional elegance and flavor of Korea, lively and dynamic K-Pop dances, and a demonstration performance by the South Korean Taekwondo Demonstration Team in China, which is striving for the globalization and popularization of the national sport, Taekwondo, greatly enlivened the event's atmosphere. In particular, the dynamic and spectacular performance by the Taekwondo demonstration team was said to have heated up the somewhat chilly venue temperature, plunging the audience into a crucible of enthusiasm and eliciting fervent cheers and applause.

Notably, the South Korean Taekwondo Demonstration Team in China was established in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic when the world came to a standstill, to serve as a private diplomatic envoy for Taekwondo between Korea and China. Despite facing twists and turns, economic difficulties, and even a crisis of dissolution, through the unwavering determination and continuous efforts of Team Leader Won-Shik Seo, it collaborated with the Capital University of Physical Education and Sports in China to establish China's first Taekwondo International Talent Class within the university. It cultivates promising Taekwondo talents from Korea, China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Spain, Nepal, India, and other countries as special scholarship students, rebirthing as the 'International Peace Taekwondo Group' – the world's only multinational Taekwondo demonstration team praying for international peace through Taekwondo uniting the world.

Since its establishment, the Taekwondo Demonstration Team has collaborated with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China, the Korean Cultural Center in China, and Korean community organizations. It has showcased brilliant Taekwondo performances at over 20 Korea-China friendship events, including the Embassy's National Day Reception (2021), events wishing for the success of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the 30th Anniversary of Korea-China Diplomatic Relations commemorative event, and a demonstration performance wishing for the success of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, enhancing national prestige. In the private sector, it has dedicated itself to Korea-China friendship and exchange at various events such as the Korean Culture Festival K-FESTA and international cultural festivals at Peking University and Tsinghua University.

Team Leader Won-Shik Seo stated, "We stood on the stage of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China's reception after four years. We tried hard to show the performance value and fun of Taekwondo, which represents Korea, through the team's performance. Fortunately, the audience responded well, and we felt greatly rewarded." He added, "Moving forward, under the name of the 'International Peace Taekwondo Group' which embraces different cultures including Korea, we plan to expand Korea-China friendship and faithfully fulfill our role as a cultural bridge striving for world peace."
