'Taekwondo fever through the heat wave'... Closing of the World Children's Taekwondo Culture Festival
9th Ganghwa Dolmen Gymnasium gathered 1,000 people 'successful'
The '2022 World Children's Taekwondo Culture Festival' hosted by the World Children's Taekwondo Union (World CTU) has closed.
On the 9th, the event held at Ganghwa Dolmen Gymnasium located in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon-si, Gyeonggi-do was attended by 700 taekwondo dreamers, coaching staff, and parents.
On this day, about 1,000 participants, their families, and taekwondo practitioners from all over the country visited the venue and it was crowded.
As a pre-ceremonial event before the opening of the competition, the Love Rock performance troupe, Intergirls from Intervid Entertainment, and Hong Seong-hyun's singer performance heated up the atmosphere like a children's culture and art festival.
The competition created a festive atmosphere with not only the general poomsae and gyeorugi events, but also 7 events such as breaking, speed kick, and candlelighting.
Ji-hoo Yoon (Seo Chang Middle school) and Gyu-Yeon Kim (Yeon-sung Middle school) were selected for the men's cadets in the 13-15 category, and Ki-Min Ga-Min (Seo Woon Middle school) and Hee-Yeon Choi (Mann Sung Middle school) were selected as representatives of the women's cadets.
The Union will send a team consisting of a leader (one person) and a staff, centered on these athletes, as the Korean representative for the European Taekwondo Union President's Cup to be held in Germany at the end of December (scheduled).
Kim Han-joon, Vice President of the World Children's Taekwondo Union, said, "I am honored to hold the competition in Ganghwa, a historical monument of the Goryeo uprising." said.
Meanwhile, this event hosted by World CTU (World Children's Taekwondo Union) and sponsored by main sponsor HS88 Co., Ltd., Kyemongsa, and Ganghwa-gun has been held every year since 2014 at major local governments in Korea. The European Taekwondo Union (ETU) President's Cup is held annually at the German headquarters.
